Author Michelle Paver has earned a $5 million advance for her children's novel Wolf Brother, which is set in the Stone Age. The book was originally going to be for adults but because the star of the novel is a 12-year-old boy named Torak, she decided to rework it as a children's novel. Wolf Brother will be the first of a six-part series called The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness.
