HarperCollins Says Retrial Will Not Delay Amanda Knox Memoir

An Italian court has made the surprising decision to retry Amanda Knox for the murder of Meredith Kercher in 2007. Amanda was acquitted of the murder in 2011. You cannot be retried for the same murder in the U.S., but you can in Italy. Amanda said in a statement that the court's decision to retry the case was "completely unfounded and unfair."

Reuters reports that HarperCollins plans to continue to publish Amanda's memoir, Waiting to Be Heard, on April 30th as scheduled. They will not delay the book because of the retrial. Amanda will also do an interview with ABC's Diane Sawyer on April 30.

HarperCollins told Reuters, "The publication is going along as scheduled. She is going ahead with all of the events."
