HarperCollins Publishers has announced a two-book deal for young adult novels with Candace Bushnell, author of
Sex and the City and
The Carrie Diaries. The
Carrie Diaries debuted at #1 on the New York Times Bestsellers List. It has been translated into 34 different international languages. The publisher did not specify whether or not these new young adult novels will continue the
Carrie Diaries series or whether they will cover new topics.
The Second Carrie Diaries novel,
Summer and the City, will be published on April 26, 2011 (April 28, 2011 in the UK).
Summer and the City explores Carrie Bradshaw's first summer in Manhattan and reveals the story of how Carrie met Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte.
