Hillary Clinton Inks Book Deal With Simon and Schuster

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has inked a deal with Simon & Schuster for a new book which will discuss her experiences as Secretary of State and will present her ideas for the U.S.' place in a changing world. Carolyn Reidy, President and Chief Executive Officer of Simon & Schuster, Inc. said in a statement, "Hillary Clinton has redefined the meaning of 'trailblazer' in every phase of her career on the world stage, as First Lady, Senator, Secretary of State, and notably, as an author. She is widely admired by her peers in the highest levels of government in both the United States and internationally, and has become a role model for millions. We couldn�t be happier to continue our long association with Secretary Clinton and to bring readers worldwide her unique insights into the most dramatic events and critically important issues of our time."

Of course, all anyone wants to know is: is she running for president? Certainly a new book laying out her ideas for the future is a classic move for a potential presidential candidate. On the other hand, she does have to earn a living now that she's back in the private sector A book and speaking engagements are the traditional career path for such a public figure.

The book does not yet have a title, but will be released next summer. Hillary will speak out about the raid that killed Osama bin Laden, the overrthrow of Qaddafi in Libya, the Arab Spring and the rise of China and other powers. She will also discuss social issues, especially her project to promote women's rights around the world.

The release says she will tell anecdotes and discuss her relationship with President Obama. After fighting such an intense battle for the democratic nomination, the two rivals ended up getting along quite well.

Clinton has written four other books: It takes a Village (1996); Dear Socks, Dear Buddy (1998); An Invitation to the White House (2000); and Living History (2003).
