Tunnels

Relativity Media announced it is making a film based on the popular Tunnels fantasy adventure series by Roderick Gordon and Brian Williams. The books, published by Scholastic/Chicken House, have sold over one million copies on nearly forty countries. The final book (book six) in the Tunnels series, Terminal, will be published this fall. The series is set in London with two teenage boys discovering a hidden underground world and a secret civilization.

Mikael Hafstrom has signed on to direct. The script by Andrew Lobel is based on the adapted screenplay originally written by Joel Bergvall and Simon Sandquist.

Mark Canton, one of the producers of Tunnels, said in a statement, "The originality of the book and its sequels, which uniquely combine the adventure of Indiana Jones with the magic of Narnia, along with its franchise potential, is what attracted Relativity, Neil, Danny and myself to Tunnels and I'm delighted to be producing it with them. Having just finished The Tomb with Mikael Hafstrom, I know first hand that he's the perfect person to direct this epic fantasy, and Andrew Lobel's script has captured every bit of the incredible world that Roderick Gordon and Brian Williams have created."
