Scholastic has announced plans to publish a seven book fantasy series called Spirit Animals. Brandon Mull will launch the series on September 10, 2013 with
Wild Born. Maggie Stiefvater will pen the second book in the series. The series will tie-in with an online game.
The series is set in the fantasy world of Erdas. In this world children who come of age are put through a ritual to determine if they have a "spirit animal." The series follows four children who are determined to have a spirit animal and a greater destiny. The children will have to unite to battle a dark force that has risen from long-forgotten lands.
