I just recently purchased an out of print book from a book seller i met from using the advanced book exchange the transaction was great i like advanced book exchange because you can purchase long forgotten books from dealers listed worldwide i would not have access to these books any other way Judy Shue Summerville, SC, USA Yes, I have, numerous times. The prices are better on-line, the service is quick, and it's possible to find what you want without having to call a retail store and be put on hold and probably disconnected, drive for miles from one store to another, or wait for eternity to locate a copy of what you want. After searching for over 10 years for a certain recording, I found it on-line in a matter of minutes and paid less than $10! But then, not everyone has the advantage of a first-class independent bookstore (with additional cut-rate bookstore with overruns, used, older books). We in Oxford, MS are very lucky have one of the best bookstores in America, Square Books, and their off-shoot, Off-Square Books (pun intended). It's so fast! Just a few clicks and providing a credit card number and it's done! In a few days there a knock at the door and your choisen items are in your hands. What a way to do Christmas shopping!!! Forgotten someone's special day? Get something extra special via the 'net and they'll forget that you forgot!!! And you don't have to step outside your door to create something wonderful for someone. Saves wear and ear on your feet and arms as you can say a very pleasant "goodbye" to the mall! The sense of wandering between worlds where lands wait, ripe for adventuring, and untold romances sit, ready to capture your heart. The sense of opening and gazing into a book that has never been opened, these you just can't experience online, but it is a fast and easy way to buy books, if you don't want to take a risk of finding something unexplored. The reason for this being that I am not totally sure I trust the experience. Most of the online companies; such as Ebay, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, etc., are well known and have reputaions to maintain, so it is only logical that they would not cheat you by not sending your what you ordered, but still even with that much, I am not completely satisifed. I would not, no matter the company and its reputation, ever give out my credit card or other vital information online. This does not mean I so much distrust the companies so much as I am well aware of the fact that there are hackers about, and I can never know what they are capable of and what they aren't. This left me in limbo when I was actually out shopping because I didn't want to duplicate purchases to ensure I would get an item. Purchasing books, on the other hand was rewarding and efficient. I was able to read reviews on line and therefore knew I wanted the books plus I purchased them at discounted rates. In addition, one company retained my name on a list so I would be notified when a used copy of a book no longer in print would become available. I find book browsing and shopping on line to be a pleasurable experience.
