Star U.S. Goalkeeper Tim Howard to Publish Memoir

Star U.S. goalkeeper Tim Howard will publisher his memoir with HaperCollins Publishers. Howard was the goalkeeper for the U.S. during the 2014 World Cup. He had a sensational game against in the final game the U.S. played in the tournament. Howard finished with a record 16 saves and kept the U.S. in the game.

Howard's spectacular World Cup game and his consistently excellent performance have turned him into a soccer legend. He recently landed an endorsement deal with Marriott, called Love Travels. He has appeared in past campaigns for Nike, McDonald's and other major brands.

Howard's deal with HarperCollins includes a memoir published with Harper as well as a young reader's edition that will be published by HarperCollins Children's Books. The books will both have The Keeper in the title. The memoir is titled The Keeper: A Life of Saving Goals and Achieving Them and the children's version is called The Keeper: The Unguarded Story of Tim Howard. The books will cover Howard's rise to stardom and his personal battle with Tourette's Syndrome. They will both be released on December 9, 2014.

Howard says in a statement, "I've always wanted to write a book. My goal is to share many of the highs and lows of my journey-with a little bit of the magic of the World Cup and the English Premier League-in the hope that it will provide others with some inspiration to reach for their own dreams."
