Alec Baldwin Inks Memoir Deal With Harper

Posted on February 3, 2015

Alec Baldwin just inked a deal with HarperCollins imprint Harper for a no holds barred memoir which will be called Nevertheless. The book will hit stores in the fall of 2016.

The Emmy winning actor will write the book himself without using a ghostwriter. He will write about his career -- from his start on Knot's Landing to his Oscar nomination to his role on 30 Rock, for which he won an Emmy, a SAG Award and a Golden Globe Award.

Baldwin will also discuss his personal life, from his turbulent marriage to Kim Basinger, his relationship with his daughter and all those run ins with the paparazzi. He will also address his personal growth and his addiction struggles.

HarperCollins' Jonathan Burnham had this to say about the project: "Alec Baldwin is a larger-than-life talent with an astonishing range. And his life up to now has been far from dull. In this memoir he writes about his family, lovers, friends and enemies, confronts his former demons, relives the highs and lows of his career, and opens up in an unflinchingly honest way about his life and times. This memoir will be funny, occasionally combative, often moving and an unbelievably good read."

Baldwin, who is 56, is an incredibly talented actor whose accomplishments are sometimes overshadowed by his temper. He's very outspoken about politics, but his MSNBC talk show, Up Late with Alec Baldwin, was cancelled after a scuffle with a photographer in which he used a gay slur. Baldwin apologized for the incident, but the network was not amused.

We think it's going to be a very entertaining memoir. Alec is married to yoga instructor Hilaria Baldwin. They have an adorable daughter, Carmen Baldwin. Hilaria shared the above photograph on her Instagram, @hilariabaldwin, where she also shares many of her unique yoga poses. They are expecting another child. Hilaria captioned the above photograph, "4 of us."
