Bruce Springsteen Memoir Hits Bookstores in September

The Boss is publishing a memoir. Simon & Schuster announced that Bruce Springsteen's autobiography will be called Born to Run. It will be released on September 27, 2016. It's expected to be an international bestseller, with rights already sold to countries all over the world.Springsteen has been working on the memoir for the past seven years. After he performed during the 2009 Super Bowl halftime with the E Street Band, he began work on the book. This appears to be a memoir that was actually written by the subject, although we're sure he had some editing help. The book delves deep into Springsteen's early years and his absolute determination to make it as a musician. He also discusses his imagination that he says is fueled by "poetry, danger, and darkness."
Springsteen writes in the book, "Writing about yourself is a funny business. But in a project like this, the writer has made one promise, to show the reader his mind. In these pages, I've tried to do this." Reportedly the book lives up to its promises of candor, with details about the artist's greatest struggles and how the dark times led to some of his best songwriting.
It's definitely a coup for Jonathan Karp, the publisher of Simon & Schuster. Karp said, "This is the book we've been hoping for. Readers will see their own lives in Bruce Springsteen's extraordinary story, just as we recognize ourselves in his songs."
