Tell-All Book by Anonymous Congressman Climbs Amazon Bestseller List

Posted on May 15, 2016

A tell-all book by an anonymous congressman has been climbing the bestseller list on Amazon. The book, The Confessions of Congressman X, has reached as high as #2 on Amazon's bestseller list. The book shares details on the inner workings of Congress and says the main job of a Congressman is "to get reelected."

The book includes many revelations that put a very dim view on how Congress operates. The author says, "Fundraising is so time consuming I seldom read any bills I vote on." The author also says, "Most of my colleagues are dishonest career politicians who revel in the power and special-interest money that's lavished upon them."

The process of getting reelected appears to be all the time this particular Congressman has or had during their time in office. The anonymous author writes, "My main job is to keep my job, to get reelected. It takes precedence over everything."

The book is published by Mill City Press, Inc. The book description on Amazon.com says the author is a man and a Democrat. The author wishes to remain quite so as not to embarrass his family. The author says, "I don't have the desire to soil my legacy, nor do I want to embarrass my family or the congressional colleagues I've worked with through the years. I also don't wish to subject myself to a barrage of incoming crap from the sanctimonious progressives in my party."

The New York Post reports that the book is based on years of transcribed private discussions. Mill City Press editor Robert Atkinson says he was given these discussions last November. Atkinson won't say whether the Congressman is currently in office.
